June 2026 - present
ORISE post bachelor research fellow at USDA-NADC in the ARS Swine Virus Unit - Ames, Iowa
Working with PI’s Alexandra Buckley and Jayne Wiarda investigating host-virus response to Porcine Respiratory and Reproductive System Virus
Septmeber 2025 - June 2026
The Bay Lab @ UC Davis Conducting transcriptomic analysis and statistical modeling to quantify how a large chromosomal inversion drives gene regulation and expression in Zostera Marina (eelgrass). - Built and maintained a DESeq2 pipeline in R to test for baseline expression divergence and genotype-by-environment interactions across inversion genotypes. - Applied Weighted Gene Co-Expression Network Analysis (WGCNA) to identify co-regulated gene modules and used linear models to quantify genotype and treatment effects on network-level expression. - Independently implemented rMATS to detect and quantify alternative splicing events across genotypes. - Developed a multi-track Manhattan visualization of the Chr01 inversion region integrating DEGs, alternative splicing, and allele-specific expression with Fisher’s exact enrichment tests. - Navigated SLURM-based HPC clusters for alignment (STAR), assembly (StringTie), and splicing workflows, automating pipelines with Bash scripting
March 2026 - June 2026
The Bay Lab @ UC Davis - CCGP Research project
